My kid’s OA idea, Giving Is More Fun
My 8-year-old girl has great ideas. Some mind you are quite dangerous or irrational or even unattainable, but ideas flourish from her little mind on a daily basis. This one idea had to beat all of her others to date. She was helping me organize all the Ordinarily Amazing lifestones. We were discussing how she and her friends could trade them and enjoy choosing one every morning to put in their pocket for “good Karma”. (She is wise beyond her years). Out of nowhere, she said, “Mom, it isn’t about me and my friends giving them to each other, it is so much bigger than that. We should be giving them to sick kids in the hospital. The stones would do so much more good there than with us—we aren’t sick. Why can’t we do that?” Within a day, she was out raising money through a lemonade stand so she could buy lifestones and give them to kids in the hospital.
What a brilliant idea from a very smart and kind little girl.
